You can freelance through your own website or blog also. Taking the help of social medias is an integral part of promoting yourself as a freelancer. If you want to freelance but do not know upon which field you should freelance then go to any freelance network like odesk. Check the category and get the idea.

Paid Reviews: If you are having a popular blog with a good number of RSS subscribers and a high page rank (PR) then you can start writing reviews for different websites or products related to your niche/topic and get paid for the same.
